Discover coastal arcticity

Those who steer north find the Arctic Coast by the northernmost part of the Baltic Sea. Easily accessible by air, train or sea, the Arctic Coast is full of northern, coastal characteristics.

A year-round Marina. Ancient, northern archipelago culture and picturesque old towns. World-famous bird wetlands, lighthouses and icebreakers. The birthplace of the world’s most beautiful sailing boats. Nature that still tells stories from the ice age – the land still slowly rising from the sea.

We aim at marketing the highlights and unique travel experiences along our home-coast. On the map, marked in grey, you can see the coastal area which Visit Arctic Coast with its existing and future partners focus on.

The surroundings of Kalajoki Sand Dunes are best discovered by bikes. There are many kinds of bikes to rent, also electric bikes. Start with a guided tour to get to places which you would not otherwise find. With a local, you get to see the best scenic points and get a few tips for further explorations. We recommend renting the bikes for several days and biking to Lohilaakso for the best smoked fish in the summer – and in the winter head for the frozen sea of the Rahja archipelago.
